These terms apply to the AskToTeach website (asktoteach.com) and mobile app (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What AskToTeach is
AskToTeach is a marketplace that connects learners with independent tutors for one-to-one tuition, group classes and video tutorials, and offers mock tests and practice for exams. Tutors are independent service providers, not our employees or agents. The tuition agreement is between the learner and the tutor; we provide the platform, payments and support.
2. Accounts
- Give accurate details and keep your password and sign-in codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must create the account or agree to your use of it, and is responsible for bookings and payments made through it.
- One person, one account. You can use the same account as a learner and as a tutor.
- You can delete your account at any time (how to delete your account).
3. Tutors
- Your profile must be truthful: real name, real qualifications and experience, and fees you will honour.
- “Verified” means we checked the ID or documents you uploaded. It is not a guarantee of teaching quality. Uploading false documents leads to removal and may be reported to the authorities.
- Turn up to accepted sessions on time, teach what was agreed, and treat learners, especially minors, with care and respect.
- Do not ask learners to pay outside AskToTeach for bookings, classes or tutorials made through it.
- You own the content you upload (class material, tests, tutorials) and give us a licence to host and show it to learners on the service.
- You are responsible for your own taxes on your earnings. Payouts are made to the account you provide, after the platform fee shown to you.
4. Learners and bookings
- Booking requests are confirmed only when the tutor accepts. Paid bookings are confirmed once payment succeeds.
- Prices are shown before you pay and include any platform fee. Payments are processed by Razorpay.
- Cancellations, refunds and disputes follow the rules shown on the booking or class page at the time you book. If a tutor does not turn up or a session is not delivered, raise a dispute from the booking and our team will review it.
- Video tutorials you buy are for your personal use; do not share, download or resell them.
5. Tests and content
Mock tests, questions and explanations are for practice. We try to keep them accurate but do not guarantee results in any exam. Report mistakes from the test screen. Our content and the AskToTeach name and logo belong to us; do not copy or republish them without permission.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or share sexual, hateful or illegal content;
- post fake reviews, review yourself, or pay for reviews;
- impersonate someone or use another person’s account;
- collect other users’ data, spam them, or contact them for purposes unrelated to learning;
- try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the service.
We may remove content, suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
7. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the conduct of tutors or learners, for what happens in sessions held off the platform or at home, or for indirect losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking, class or tutorial concerned. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under Indian law.
8. Changes and ending
We may change the service or these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes will be announced before they apply. You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
9. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Write to [email protected] with questions or complaints; we reply within 48 hours and try to resolve issues within 30 days. Unresolved disputes are subject to the courts of India.
